Duplin County commissioners appointed a voting delegate and an alternate for the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners annual conference, scheduled Aug. 21–23 in Pitt County. The board named Commissioner Dowell as the voting delegate and Commissioner Branch as the alternate after a motion and second; the chair called for the ayes and the motion carried.

County staff said at least one or two commissioners usually attend the conference and asked the board to designate a voting delegate and alternate so the county can be represented in conference votes. The appointments were made by voice vote with no recorded roll-call.

The conference will be held at the Greenville Convention Center and county staff noted the date and location for planning purposes.
