Randolph County Board recognizes 13 students selected for Apprenticeship Randolph pre-apprenticeship program

The Randolph County Board of Education recognized 13 students Tuesday who were selected for Apprenticeship Randolph, a pre-apprenticeship program for high school juniors and seniors run in partnership with Randolph Community College and local employers.
The program includes a six-week pre-apprenticeship summer program with Randolph Community College classes and 40 hours per week of on-the-job training. Randolph County School System staff said the district had 13 of 18 preselected apprenticeships filled among participating school systems.
Staff thanked Stacey Miller and Andy Wilson from Randolph Community College for their leadership and asked the students to come forward to receive a certificate from the board. Board members praised the students’ character and the district’s high participation rate compared with other systems in the collaboration.
Ending: Board and staff congratulated the students and noted a group photograph would be taken after recognitions.
