Redwood Builders presented a conditional-use permit application for an attached accessory dwelling unit at 82 Katinka Drive during the July 3 meeting.

The proposal calls for an approximately 898-square-foot ADU attached to the rear of the existing garage and expansion of the garage by one bay. Architect/contractor Alex Malika said the team will match existing exterior materials (vinyl clapboard siding, Pella window profiles and roof shingles) so the ADU visually matches the current home. Stormwater from new roof areas will be directed into vegetated areas to avoid sending runoff onto the existing driveway; the contractor also noted an 8-inch internal sewer main connection for the unit.

Board review and outcome

Board members asked about the windowless internal room (the architect said it is planned as an office/bonus space, not a bedroom) and confirmed the guttering/drainage approach so entry areas would not be inundated. There were no public speakers and no written comments in the record. The board closed the public hearing on CU2025-016; staff will email the applicant with the written notice of decision to follow at the next meeting cycle.
