Seaford council unanimously approved GGA Construction’s request to use a fenced portion of the sports complex parking lot from Sept. 2025 to May 2026 to stage materials for renovation of the Seaford House at 400 Market Street Extended.
Seaford — The Mayor and Council unanimously approved a request Sept. 9 from GGA Construction to use roughly a 120-foot by 30-foot portion of the unpaved parking lot at the city sports complex to store materials and equipment while renovating the Seaford House facility at 400 Market Street Extended.
City staff said the contractor will fence the storage area, has agreed to restore the site to its pre-construction condition and will provide photographic documentation. Staff said the city will require a certificate of insurance naming the city as an additional insured before the contractor can occupy the lot.
"We've communicated with the contractor with the request, regarding the dates and times. They've agreed to restore this location to before construction condition," the city manager said during the presentation. Councilwoman Grasset moved to approve; Councilman McQuillan seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Staff noted the storage use is expected from approximately September 2025 through May 2026 to support renovations at the Seaford House. The council did not add additional conditions beyond the standard requirement for insurance and site restoration.
The council did not record a roll-call vote in the minutes; the chair announced the motion passed unanimously.
