The San Luis City Council approved Change Order No. 10 for $12,609 to MGC Contractors Inc. for the new well and treatment-unit project. Assistant Director of Public Works Jorge Perez said the project is substantially complete and the change order covers last-minute work to protect the well pump, including piping to pre-lube the pump, electrical conduit and associated labor.
Perez said the overall project contract was approximately $3,966,900 and that the department had nearly exhausted that project budget. He recommended transferring the $12,609 from an approved water-department project budgeted at $1,700,000 for a new booster station on San Luis, and said the transfer would not harm that project.
Council moved and seconded approval of the change order; the motion carried with members saying “aye.” No council member requested additional detail or opposed the transfer during the meeting.
