The Gahanna Parks Board unanimously approved a $100 rental fee waiver for a Hannah Lincoln High School developmental disabilities class requested for Friday, Sept. 19 at Woodside Green.
The request—submitted by Katie Roslovic on behalf of the class—appeared in the board packet after the online attachment initially failed to upload. A staff member told the board the class regularly uses Woodside Green during weekdays and that schools automatically may use outdoor shelters Monday through Thursday under the current pricing policy; this request was for a different teacher and for a Friday event that required board approval.
A motion to approve the fee waiver was made and seconded; the board conducted a roll call and recorded unanimous approval. The roll call recorded the following votes: Jan Ross, yes; Eric Miller, yes; Ken Shepherd, yes; Holly Haynes, yes; Chrissy Kaminski, yes; Harvey McCluskey, yes; Donna Simmons, yes.
Board members flagged that most waivers this year have gone to schools and suggested a year‑end review of waivers by organization. A staff member noted that nonprofits receive an automatic 25 percent rental discount under the pricing policy and that any requests beyond that discount are brought to the board for approval. The board agreed the pricing policy will come back for discussion in October and requested year‑to‑date waiver totals to inform that review.
This action was a single, discrete approval of a fee waiver; no other fee changes or policy amendments were adopted at the meeting.
