Riverside Local School District's maintenance team on Wednesday summarized extensive summer work across the district, saying crews and volunteers cleaned classrooms and hallways, completed painting and refinishing work, and performed preventative maintenance on equipment.
Maintenance staff reported 240 classrooms were cleaned; more than 12,000 pieces of furniture were removed, cleaned and returned; maintenance serviced district equipment and changed more than 500 filters; and the district sealed and striped parking lots. The LAMUTH gym floor was refinished and Mel Ridge received interior painting and touch‑ups in modular units. The district also reported repair and painting work in adult bathrooms and stairwells at multiple schools.
Maintenance director (transcript) Mr. Orlesick thanked staff and teachers who assisted with summer work and said while the summer crew was busy the district still wished they had more time to do additional projects.
The board also heard that the conference room HVAC noise issue was addressed in‑house and that grounds crews maintained the district's approximately 85 acres of mowable property. The district spread mulch and completed grout cleaning and other custodial tasks at Buckeye and other buildings.
The maintenance update was informational; no formal action was requested.
