Palm View honors Palomino girls softball team after international summer championships

The Palm View City Council recognized the Palomino girls softball team for winning the International World League championship and for a busy summer of competitions.

Mayor Ricardo Villareal and other council members invited the team to the dais, listed players and coaches by name, and praised the players’ on‑field accomplishments and classroom expectations. Team members and a player representative thanked parents and coaches; a named player, Arlette Hernandez, was identified by the mayor as the team’s MVP and pitching standout.

Council members encouraged the players to continue their schoolwork and athletic development and invited them to remain involved in the city’s athletic programs. The meeting closed the recognition with a group photo and community applause.
