During public comment Oct. 13, Victor Jones, founder and chairman of the HERO Center for Veterans, invited Davidson County commissioners to attend the organization’s monthly veterans coffee held at the Thomasville Public Library.

Jones said the monthly event takes place in Thomasville and that the next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday the 22nd at 10 a.m.; he asked commissioners and staff to provide the event schedule to county clerks so it can be added to calendars. Jones said the event aims to connect elected officials with veterans and to provide an informal setting for residents to meet local leaders.

No county action was taken on the invitation. Staff said they would distribute the schedule if provided.
