The Boyle County Fiscal Court approved routine business items and a series of financial transfers during its Oct. 14 meeting.
The court approved two sets of minutes and a budget transfer totaling $9,810.84. County finance staff reported a package of cash transfers: $1,250,000 moved from the county's interest‑bearing account to the general fund; $275,000 transferred from the general fund to the jail fund; $275,000 transferred from the general fund to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fund; and a quarterly transfer from the opioid account to the EMS fund of $19,271.32 to fund social worker salaries. County staff told the court the interest‑bearing account balance stood at about $6,000,565 and that the county also held just over $5,000,000 in two certificates of deposit.
The court approved payment of the bills packet, adding an invoice from Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering and Testing in the amount of $3,000 to bring the total bills to $953,035.35. Officials also approved an incentive payment of $3,976.59 to a sheriff's employee who completed 40 hours of training; the incentive is to be paid in three installments of $1,325.53.
Magistrates and finance staff provided the regular EMS operations report: August saw 638 runs (about 21 per day) and September 658 runs (about 22 per day); members reported some apparatus issues affecting responses. The court accepted the EMS report.
The court also moved into executive session under Kentucky statute KRS 61.810(1)(b) to discuss the future acquisition or sale of real property; members returned to open session with no action taken.
Ending: All the listed transfers and payments were approved by voice vote or unanimous assent in the open meeting; no contracts, bond authorizations or land acquisitions were approved during this session.
