The Charlton Select Board at its Oct. 14 meeting took multiple personnel actions: appointing a cultural council member, naming members to an ad hoc housing production plan steering committee, appointing three traffic constables, and accepting two staff resignations.
The board unanimously appointed Lisa Avi to the Cultural Council, with a term expiring June 30, 2028. The board also appointed Linda Walker, Earlene Murray and Anne Nagastosh to an ad hoc Housing Production Plan steering committee that will work with town staff and the planning board; those appointments will expire on completion of the committee’s assigned duties.
Chief Dowd (presenting the request) recommended the appointment of three traffic constables; the board appointed Louis P. Massey Jr., Troy J. Casper Sr. and John G. White, with terms expiring June 30, 2026.
The board accepted with regret the resignation of Megan Campbell from her per-diem dispatcher position, effective Oct. 4, 2025, and accepted the resignation of cemetery laborer John Holbrook, effective Oct. 3, 2025. Select Board members thanked both employees for their service.
The board also approved the minutes of the regular meeting dated Sept. 23, 2025; that vote carried 3 ayes, 1 abstention.
