The Carroll County Board of Supervisors approved a utility permit for Rockwell Electric to bore and install underground power at 33586 Robin Avenue and authorized repair work on Drain 29 (near Sycamore and 210).
Zach, speaking for the Secondary Roads department, described the utility work as a standard bore under the road associated with a new home site and said the department did not foresee issues. Supervisors moved, seconded and approved the permit by voice vote.
On Drain 29, county staff reported a hole in the field on the 20-inch line where a 10-inch line connects; the department said the repair should be straightforward. The board approved the drain repair.
Zach also provided department updates: completion of a box culvert project on 300 Street (contractor payment in the current bills), ongoing work on a Templeton shed project with materials shifting to steel next week, and plans to post a job description and advertisement for a weed commissioner to replace a retiree. He said the department prefers a full-time position that combines mechanic duties with weed-commissioner responsibilities to maintain operations year-round.
