Chamber organizers said the recent Payson golf tournament drew roughly 31–32 teams, exceeding some planners’ comfort level and prompting plans to refine logistics for the event’s 10th year.
Chris (role not specified), who reviewed the tournament for the chamber, said state legislators attended without RSVPing and organizers quickly assembled a team to include them. "We ended up having 32 teams. I think we had 32 teams. 31 teams," Chris said in the meeting. The governor also attended and remained at the event for much of the day, participants said.
Organizers called the event largely successful but flagged a few operational issues. Committee members discussed limiting or structuring interactive activities at each hole to prevent play slowdowns, improving sponsor visibility and photo packages for teams, and seeking to fill sponsor/exhibit spots at all 18 holes without creating delays.
Casey (role not specified) was expected to post final results; organizers said prizes and a 10th‑year commemorative framing or photo product are being discussed for next year.
