The Wright County drainage trustees convened after the county supervisors' Oct. 6, 2025 meeting and reviewed public concerns about blocked tile intakes and several drainage work orders. Trustees approved three work orders and signed eight brush and weed control invoices, the meeting record shows.
A resident who identified a tile intake in Pleasant Township, Section 16, asked trustees to inspect two tile crossings: one intake in the road ditch that the resident said had not been serviced since installation and another tile crossing on Victor Avenue that the resident reported was full of dirt. Trustees explained the county's tile‑crossing policy and the options for expedited versus long‑term engineering review. The county noted it will cover up to a specified amount for an open‑cut crossing under its policy; the transcript records the county statement as "the county will only pay up to $2,000 for the crossing, for a boring $10,000" and that longer engineering reviews require board approval.
Trustees reviewed three work orders reported in the meeting record: a blowout on an 18‑inch tile in Section 27 of Dayton Township (reported by Higgies Hybrids), a beaver‑dam removal for DD36 Lateral B in Section 21 of Lake Township (reported by Austin Keller; trustees provided a trappers list), and a blowout on DD149 in Section 19 of Wall Lake on property of the Jacobson Revocable Trust (approximately 100 yards west of the west edge of the lane). Trustees instructed staff to document damage and take photos for the record.
The trustees signed eight brush and weed control invoices with the following line items and amounts as read into the record: DD46‑92 ($1,300), DD49‑90 ($900), DD145‑61‑1 ($700), DD228‑85 ($1,000), DD25 ($250), DD183 ($250), DD187 ($900), and DD16 ($1,200). The combined total for the eight invoices reported at the meeting was $6,500. Trustees approved the invoices on a motion recorded as carried; the transcript does not show a roll‑call vote.
Trustees also approved the tentative agenda and minutes of the previous meeting on Sept. 29, 2025. The record shows the drainage trustees approved a work order for DD23 in Section 9 of Lincoln Township to add riprap to the north side of a wooden bulkhead where a structure was exposed.
Meeting attendees identified in the drainage record included supervisors Lukes, Bosch and Ellis; County Auditor Amanda Meyer; and interested parties AJ Taylor and Robert Watts. The trustees adjourned following approval of invoices and routine business.
