The board presented appointments to several county advisory bodies and the county manager reported a philanthropic gift and an upcoming community event.

The board nominated Tara Linton to replace Carol Turner on the library board for a term from August 2025 through June 2027, and named Corey Guthrie and Mike Kerner to replace Terry Trageser and Gary Pashant on the long-range planning committee. The chairman said those appointments will come up for a formal vote at the next meeting.

County Manager Joy publicly thanked Mansfield Oil Company for an unsolicited $5,000 donation to Park and Recreation’s EPIC program for adults with disabilities. Joy said the donation was unexpected and will help finish the EPIC program’s 2025 budget and may leave funds for next year’s prom and camp. Joy also reminded attendees of the Family Connections family fair at Main Street Park the next evening, beginning at 6 p.m., featuring a free movie and community activities.

No formal votes on the appointments were taken during the work session; the appointees will be presented for action at the upcoming meeting.
