Council reviews certified survey map to combine parcels for new fire station; right-of-way dedication included

City staff presented a certified survey map to consolidate parcels for the proposed fire station site. The map combines three parcels that comprised the former school district property and two parcels acquired from the Pearson family into a single lot for construction.

The CSM includes dedications of additional right-of-way along Adams Street, Court Street and Lewis Street to allow for wider public sidewalks and to formalize angled parking that has historically been on the former school district parcel. Because the CSM includes public right-of-way dedication, staff brought the map to the Common Council for authorization rather than handling it solely at Plan Commission level.

Council members had no substantive questions and accepted the information; formal approval steps will follow as required for the project’s permitting and design timeline.
