Prescott Valley rebrands Animal Services, launches online pet licensing partner Docupet
Neighborhood Services in Prescott Valley has rebranded its animal-control function as Animal Services, unveiled new uniforms and patches, and launched a new online pet licensing system through Docupet, the department's director said on PV in Focus.

"They are now in a navy blue top, navy blue vest. They do call themselves Animal Services because they really are providing services to help you with your animals, keep animals safe," Tracy Lira, Neighborhood Services director, said. She said staff hope the friendlier look underscores the team's outreach and education role.

The town also is using Docupet as a new licensing partner. Lira said Docupet "allows residents to go right online to their website and they can order it right through their account." She added that residents uncomfortable online may come to the Neighborhood Services office where staff can process the license in person.

Lira stressed the public-health importance of licensing tied to rabies vaccinations. "Right now there is more rabies concerns locally," she said, noting animals in Yavapai County have tested positive for rabies. She urged residents to keep dogs vaccinated and licensed.

Animal Services will continue other functions (response, education, field assistance) and the department said it welcomes resident calls with questions about animal care, licensing or concerns.

Residents should check the Town of Prescott Valley Neighborhood Services page for Docupet links and licensing instructions, and contact Animal Services for questions about vaccinations or public-safety concerns.
