The Farmers Branch Senior Advisory Board conducted nominations for its 2025–26 officers at its July meeting and, with no opposing votes, accepted the slate offered from the floor: Matt (nominated), Deborah Long as vice chair and Deborah Cruz Hart as secretary.

Staff explained the process before nominations, saying the board would take nominations from the floor, tally votes and then announce officers. "Elections for the senior advisory board officers are due to take place at the July meeting. The senior advisory board will take any nominations from the floor...staff will then total votes and announce officers," a staff member said during the meeting.

Board members nominated Matt for chair; Deborah Long was nominated for vice chair and Deborah Cruz Hart for secretary. Because no members opposed the nominations during the roll call, the board accepted the slate and declared those members to serve the coming term. The board also voted earlier in the meeting to approve the June 12, 2025, minutes after a motion by Seth Ryn.

The newly confirmed officers will represent the senior advisory board for the 2025–26 term and are expected to carry responsibility for coordinating board agendas and committee assignments. The board chair indicated he would attend an upcoming board chairs meeting next week.

The board did not take any additional formal votes related to officer duties at the meeting; members said further committee assignments and event responsibilities would be handled in upcoming meetings.
