Branch Connection renovation nearing completion; PA and IT tie‑ins remain

Senior advisory board members received an update on the Branch Connection renovation and remaining building systems work. Staff said crews are completing final checklist items, including floor leveling, a door cover at the front entrance, a theater light repair and a tack wall repair in the arts and crafts room.

"We had a meeting with the construction team yesterday. They got kind of a checklist process on what they're gonna continue to do to even out the floor and get the floor situated... they're still finishing running 1 more drop from the IT closet into this room," a staff member said. That IT connection will enable a single music source for multiple rooms and, together with a new public address system, will allow staff to make buildingwide announcements in an emergency.

Staff reported that the buckled flooring that posed a trip hazard has been fixed, though some border and acclimation work remains before final trim is reinstalled. Other finish items will be staged as materials and acclimation schedules permit. Staff said the facility is operational during the work and that a game plan exists for completing remaining repairs.

No formal vote occurred; the update was informational. Staff asked board members to report any remaining issues they observe during programming so contractors can include them on the finishing checklist.
