Ridgecrest city communications said the community gathered for the Parade of a Thousand Flags memorial and later attended the Patriotic Cars and Stripes car show at Leroy Jackson Park to honor those lost. City narration thanked sponsors and donors who made those events possible.

The city recognized volunteer retirements for Luke Arnold and Mary Elise Trousdale and thanked them for their years of service with PACT. The city also listed upcoming fall events: Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 24 behind the Kermit d Center next to Freedom Park, and Booze on Balsam on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Ridgecrest.

The city encouraged residents to sign up to host a trunk through the Parks and Recreation website and promoted general participation. The city did not provide event permit details, estimated attendance, or vendor lists in the recap.
