Clatsop County appointed two members to local advisory panels at its Oct. 14 meeting.

Tracy Kavenko, county clerk, presented a request to reappoint David Ozer as a non-office-holding member of the Property Value Appeals Board for a two-year term beginning Oct. 15, 2025, and ending June 30, 2027. The board approved the appointment by voice vote and staff said recruitment will continue to fill additional non-office-holding seats.

Gail Henriksen, community development director, presented a planning commission vacancy and recommended Wayne Carmichael, a District 5 resident and former professor of biological sciences, for a term expiring June 30, 2026. The board appointed Carmichael by voice vote. Henriksen noted the recruitment encouraged applicants from Districts 1 and 5 to improve geographic representation on the planning commission.

Both appointments were approved by motion and voice vote; the motions carried.
