The Waukegan Board of Education approved the fiscal year 2026 budget, and district leaders will present an overview of that budget at a live YouTube event on Monday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m., Nicholas Altsakis, the district's director of communications, said.

Altsakis said years of planning and financial practices have strengthened the district's fiscal position and earned improved credit ratings. The online presentation will review the district's financial health, highlight the new budget and outline challenges and opportunities ahead, the communications message said.

The briefing is part of the district's regular financial updates intended to engage families, staff and community members. The announcement did not provide details on the vote count, the budget's total dollar amount, or changes to specific revenue or spending lines; those details will be addressed in the presentation, the district said.
