San Miguel County has unveiled an innovative Advanced Web Map featuring a comprehensive Layer List, designed to enhance user interaction with geographic data. During a recent government meeting, officials highlighted the map's capabilities, which allow users to easily navigate and manipulate various data layers.

The Layer List, accessible via a side panel tab, organizes data into groups, enabling users to expand and view sublayers by clicking on designated arrows. Users can toggle visibility by checking boxes next to group layers or individual sublayers, with some layers only appearing at specific zoom levels.

Key functionalities include an actions menu for both group and individual layers, where users can adjust transparency, zoom settings, and edit layer appearances. For instance, users can select preset styles for features, such as changing the color and thickness of parcel outlines. The map also offers base maps, including aerial photos and topographic terrain, which serve as foundational layers beneath all other data.

In addition to existing layers, the map allows users to add new data through three buttons at the bottom of the Layer List. Options include adding preconfigured layers, KML files from Google Earth, or uploading personal GIS data files. Once added, these layers can be customized and styled using the same actions menu.

To ensure continuity in their work, users can save their map settings, allowing them to download a project file for future sessions. This feature is particularly beneficial for ongoing projects that require consistent data management.
