Sierra Garden Apartments Showcase Natural Inspiration in Architectural Design

The Walnut Creek Design Review Commission meeting on September 3, 2025, focused on the proposed Sierra Garden apartment project, highlighting its architectural design and site layout. The project aims to enhance the area while maintaining existing access and infrastructure.

The proposed development will not alter the current access from Sierra Drive, and there will be no changes to the existing sidewalk. The material palette includes fiber cement plank siding, vertical batten panels, metal screens, and storefront glazing, which will add texture and color to the building.

The main entrance, while not directly facing the street, will be visible from the road, ensuring accessibility. The project will also provide a significant landscape setback of 30 to 40 feet from the front property line, exceeding the required 15 feet, to create a transition between the sidewalk and the new building.
