City Manager Updates Nogales Council on Camino Del Sola Improvement Project Progress

City leaders in Nogales, Arizona, highlighted the importance of mental health awareness during a recent council meeting, with members donning white shirts to mark Suicide Awareness Month. The gesture underscored the city’s commitment to addressing mental health issues within the community.

The meeting also featured a significant update on the Camino Del Sola Sewer, Water, and Street Improvement Project. City Manager Juan Guerra assured the council that strict adherence to the project’s contract with Inova is being maintained, emphasizing that there will be no additional expenditures or deviations from the agreed timeline. Guerra stated, “I’ve been holding Inova to the contract, not allowing any deviations,” reinforcing the city’s focus on fiscal responsibility.

While Inova representatives were absent from the meeting, Guerra confirmed that they had been notified of their required presence. He noted that the city has a backup plan in place, with Guerra himself and another city official prepared to present updates on the project’s progress.

Additionally, the council received an update on the Hermosa project from Pat Reisner, who addressed community concerns regarding the development. Reisner stressed the importance of basing discussions on factual information, urging residents to engage with the project team to clarify any misconceptions. “We have a strong record of making changes to the project based on community feedback,” he stated, highlighting the city’s commitment to transparency and collaboration.
