She said the contract stated the contractor must commence work within 10 days of a proceed order and complete work within 30 days; Davis told the commission she had not seen work start in the expected window and that, after repeated inquiries, city staff told her the contractor would visit her house the day after she spoke to the commission.

Davis said she had contacted city staff in early August and spoke with a staff member named Sharonda, and that the city eventually notified the contractor. “From July 10 to today is 47 days after we filled out our contract,” Davis said. She told the commission the contact from staff that same day led to a promised contractor visit the following morning.

Davis said she and her husband have been dealing with the issue for years as part of earlier rounds of the program and that bringing the matter to the commission produced progress.
