The Annandale Public Schools School Board convened on April 28, 2025, to discuss several key topics, including personnel contracts, policy updates, and upcoming meetings.
The board approved contracts for two positions at the middle school: an LD special education teacher and a band teacher, both of which are replacements rather than new roles. Additionally, a special education paraprofessional position at the middle school was also approved as a replacement for the upcoming school year.
In a significant move, the board adopted a resolution accepting a lengthy list of donations, demonstrating community support for the schools. Furthermore, the board conducted the third and final reading of a new code of ethics for school board members, which was unanimously approved.
The meeting also included the review and approval of seven policies, which addressed various topics such as harassment and violence, mandated reporting of maltreatment, and meeting procedures. Most of these policies had either minor changes or no changes at all.
Looking ahead, the board announced a work session scheduled for May 12 at Annandale Elementary School and a monthly meeting on May 19 in the Media Center. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, reflecting a productive session focused on enhancing the educational environment in Annandale.
