Los Angeles City Enhances Utility Permitting Process with Online System Saving $180,000 Annually

Additionally, the Bureau of Street Lighting introduced enhanced design standards and guidelines aimed at improving the approval process for street light projects. This initiative has resulted in a 20% reduction in planned development time and a 40% improvement in turnaround time, translating to annual savings of $88,000. The Bureau's efforts to streamline operations reflect a commitment to maintaining the city’s extensive street lighting system, which includes over 230,000 street lights illuminating 5,500 miles of city streets.
