The city has been collaborating with a publisher since last year, aiming to finalize the manuscript by October 1, 2025, to ensure the book is ready for the spring season of 2026.

While initial plans included seeking sponsorships to offset costs, those opportunities have not materialized. However, city staff are still exploring options for advertising within the book, akin to a high school yearbook, as a means to recoup expenses. The public information officer and other staff members are actively compiling content to expedite the process once funding is approved.

In addition to the book, the council discussed a $5,000 message board project intended to engage the community. This initiative aims to recreate a space in Centennial Park where residents can share positive messages and reflections about what Venice means to them. The council believes this will foster a sense of community and connection as the city approaches its centennial milestone.

As preparations continue, the city remains focused on ensuring that the centennial celebration is both memorable and reflective of the community's spirit.
