The recent Board of Education meeting for Howard County Public Schools highlighted the impressive achievements and vibrant community spirit at Reservoir High School. This year, the school celebrated its homecoming with a series of engaging events, including theme days, a fashion show, and a pep rally, all aimed at fostering student involvement and school pride.

Reservoir's commitment to diversity was evident as the school expanded its number of active clubs, encouraging students to create new organizations that reflect their interests. This initiative has helped cultivate a welcoming environment where students can thrive and connect with one another.

The school’s academic teams have also excelled, with the Mesa team recently winning first place at the Maryland State Mesa Day and advancing to the national competition in San Diego. The Science Olympiad team secured seventh place in the state, while the debate team achieved a record number of qualifications for national congress, bringing home 78 medals. Additionally, the math team’s success in Division B has earned them a promotion to Division A next year, and the robotics team received multiple awards, showcasing the strength of Reservoir's STEM programs.

Athletics at Reservoir have seen remarkable success as well. The baseball team was crowned county champions, and several other teams, including volleyball and girls' basketball, won regional championships. Individual athletes also shone, with notable finishes in wrestling and recognition for outstanding players in both baseball and softball.

In the arts, Reservoir's theater department produced two major plays, "Romeo and Juliet" and "Legally Blonde," both of which generated record revenue. The music department also made headlines, with the choir invited to perform at the White House and the band experiencing significant growth in membership, leading to a need for additional uniforms.
