The FPS Board of Education held its regular meeting on June 17, 2025, where notable achievements in athletics were celebrated, particularly focusing on the North Farmington Girls Tennis and Boys and Girls Track teams.
The meeting commenced with the recognition of two standout athletes, Brianna and Vanessa, who received accolades for their performances, with Brianna being named all-region and all-state honorable mention, while Vanessa earned an All State Academic Honor.
Coach Andre then presented the North Farmington Girls Tennis team, highlighting their impressive season. The team finished sixth in the state tournament out of 25 teams, marking their best finish since 2004. They also secured second place in both the white division and regionals. Coach Andre praised the team's sportsmanship and camaraderie, emphasizing their dedication to both athletics and academics. Individual achievements were acknowledged, including Chloe Cole and Bridal Yueke, who reached the quarterfinals at the state tournament in doubles, and Samantha Crew, who won the state championship in singles with an undefeated record.
Following the tennis recognition, Coach Christian Alexander addressed the audience regarding the Boys and Girls Track teams. Despite challenging weather conditions, the teams demonstrated resilience and skill throughout the season. Several athletes were recognized for their accomplishments, including Bregman James, who qualified for state in hurdles, and Alex Hamilton, who excelled in the 1,600 meters and was an OAA champion in the 3,200 meters.
The meeting concluded with a brief recess, allowing attendees to reflect on the achievements celebrated during the evening.
