The station, which opened last year, has faced challenges in reaching the northern parts of the city due to limited access routes. City officials discussed a partnership with Centurion, a development company, to enhance access to the northern areas, particularly around Rosamond. The proposed solution involves constructing a new road that would improve emergency response times and facilitate better access for residents to commercial developments in the area. While Centurion will take on the responsibility for building this road, they will not be obligated to handle the commercial component of the project, which will be managed by another developer.

The new road is planned to be two lanes, with the potential for expansion to four lanes in the future, depending on city growth and infrastructure needs. This decision aims to ensure that as the population increases, the necessary infrastructure will be in place to support it. Council members expressed concerns about traffic volume and the importance of thoughtful planning to prevent congestion, especially with the anticipated growth in the Hurricane Creek area.

In addition to the road construction, discussions included timelines for the commercial development, which is expected to move forward within the next 60 to 90 days. The city has already approved plans for this commercial area, which is projected to include around 60,000 square feet of retail space.
