The Millennial Maven Creative Foundation has submitted a request for $10,000 to support the marketing and advertising of their upcoming "Rooted in Rhythm" event, scheduled for October 18, 2025, at District 121.

Bridget Jones, the executive director of the foundation, highlighted the event's focus on showcasing underrepresented artists in the country music genre. The initiative aims to engage the community through a series of workshops, panels, and live performances, culminating in a music showcase that features both local and nationally recognized talent. The event is expected to draw significant attention, with over half of the anticipated attendees coming from outside McKinney, including 27% from outside Texas.

The foundation has already begun building excitement for "Rooted in Rhythm" through various promotional activities, including monthly live dance classes and mini-concerts. These efforts have seen impressive growth, with attendance at dance classes increasing from 69 to over 300 participants. The foundation's strategic partnerships with local businesses, such as the Denison Hotels and McKinney Hat Company, aim to enhance the experience for attendees and encourage local participation.

In addition to the grant application, the meeting touched on the foundation's successful social media strategy, which has resulted in viral posts and significant ticket sales. With 62% of early bird tickets already sold, the foundation is optimistic about a full sell-out.
