The focus was on Master Application 25012, which seeks a three-year extension for a site development permit to construct a 98,157 square foot gated mini-storage facility. This facility will be situated on approximately 4.73 acres of land located on the east side of Van Buren Boulevard, north of Clay Street.

Oscar Schroder, an associate planner, presented the details of the project, highlighting its proximity to existing residential developments, including the Rock Rose and Bayberry housing projects. The proposed site is also near notable landmarks such as the former Sizzler restaurant and an In-N-Out Burger, providing context for its location within the community.

Originally approved in May 2023, the project had a permit expiration date set for May 2025. The extension request aims to push this deadline to May 2028, allowing the developers additional time to secure necessary building and grading permits, which are currently under review. The extension is permissible under city regulations, which allow for a total approval period of up to five years.
