In a vibrant display of community pride, the Laredo City Council meeting on August 18, 2025, celebrated the achievements of local students and innovators, highlighting the city's commitment to fostering talent and leadership among its youth.

The meeting kicked off with the council's approval of minutes from the previous session, but the real spotlight shone on two remarkable students from Harmony School of Innovation, Zoe Castaneda and Luis Ivan Zapata Espinosa. Both were recognized for their participation in the prestigious National Youth Leadership Forum at Rice University, where they engaged in hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
