Cody City Council has taken significant steps to enhance local infrastructure, approving key projects during their recent meeting on August 19, 2025. The council greenlit a $415,010 grant for an updated airport master plan, aimed at improving the Yellowstone Regional Airport. This mini-update, expected to take about nine months, will streamline future capital improvement projects and ensure eligibility for additional federal grants. The funding breakdown includes a 95% federal share, with the city covering the remaining 5% through local funds.
In another major decision, the council approved a $150,000 grant agreement with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission for the design of the Belfry Bridge boat ramp improvement project. This funding will help transition the concept plan into a preliminary design, paving the way for future enhancements to the area.
Additionally, the council authorized a professional services agreement with JUB Engineering for the rehabilitation of the raw water pump house, with a budget of $89,600. This project is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its water distribution system, as outlined in the 2021 water master plan.
These approvals mark a proactive approach by the Cody City Council to invest in essential infrastructure, ensuring the community is well-equipped for future growth and development.
