Grand Targhee Resort proposes new affordable housing development in Teton Valley

Grand Targhee Resort is set to enhance its employee housing options with a new development plan approved during the Teton County meeting on August 19, 2025. The plan includes the construction of seven affordable housing units, aimed at addressing the growing demand for workforce housing in the region.

The resort's representative highlighted the changing market conditions and the need for more affordable units, noting that Teton Valley currently has a significant shortfall in housing. With only 32 affordable units built and a goal of 15 to 20 more, the new condos will provide much-needed momentum to meet local housing needs. The proposed units will cater to various income levels, with affordability ranging from 0% to 120% of the median family income.

This initiative not only aims to support the local community but also benefits Grand Targhee Resort by offering employees a chance to own homes, a crucial factor for retention in a competitive job market. The development plan includes provisions for a shuttle stop to facilitate employee access to the resort, ensuring that the housing remains integrated with the resort's operations.
