This week, Angelenos have a chance to engage in community beautification and environmental awareness at several exciting events on Saturday, August 23.

The seventh annual Beautification Conference, hosted by the Board of Public Works and the Office of Community Beautification, will take place at the Lincoln Heights Senior Center starting at 10 AM. This year's theme, "People, Purpose, Presence," invites residents to connect, share stories, and learn about local cleanup initiatives. Attendees can explore over 30 exhibitors at the community resource expo, focusing on topics like community engagement, volunteering, and the My LA 311 system.

In addition, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will host a guided walk at Cabrillo Beach Coastal Park at 1 PM. Participants will explore various habitats, including a native garden and tide pools, while learning about local flora and fauna.

Councilwoman Tracy Park will lead a special "Back to School" event at Venice Beach, also on August 23, beginning at 10 AM. This coastal cleanup and wellness celebration aims to support families affected by January's wildfires. The event will feature youth performances, local vendors, games, and a backpack giveaway, alongside activities like yoga and a skate zone.

These events highlight the city's commitment to community involvement and environmental stewardship, offering residents opportunities to connect and contribute to a cleaner, more vibrant Los Angeles.
