Encinitas Commissioners Approve Work Plan and Announce Beach Cleanup and Mural Tour

The City of Encinitas Environmental Commission has officially approved its work plan for the upcoming period, ensuring a structured approach to environmental initiatives in the community. During the meeting held on August 14, 2025, commissioners unanimously voted in favor of the plan, which outlines key projects and activities aimed at enhancing local environmental efforts.

In addition to the work plan approval, the commission highlighted several community events that encourage public participation in environmental stewardship. A beach cleanup organized by Surfrider is scheduled for this Saturday at Moonlight Beach, inviting residents to join in preserving the coastal environment.

Furthermore, plans for a mural tour along Highway 101 were discussed, showcasing approximately 70 murals that celebrate local art. Although the launch of this bike tour was initially set for this weekend, it has been postponed to October, with promotional materials expected to be released soon.

The commission also shared updates on various cleanup initiatives, including a recent collaboration with the salon center and upcoming events at Hayne Meeting Hall and Fox Point Farms. These activities aim to engage the community in maintaining the beauty of Encinitas while fostering a sense of collective responsibility for the environment.
