Residents of Hideout are raising concerns about community engagement and traffic safety following the recent Town Council meeting held on August 14, 2025.
During the meeting, community member Daniel expressed a desire for better communication with the Homeowners Association (HOA), noting that many HOA meetings are closed and lack transparency. He highlighted the need for more accessible information regarding future meetings and discussions, which currently only reflect past notes. Daniel emphasized the importance of understanding the HOA's role in the community and expressed interest in engaging more with the council on these matters. In response, a council member invited him to a separate session to discuss these issues further, indicating a willingness to improve communication.
Another resident, Julie Quick, raised a pressing safety concern regarding the intersection of Sailwater Lane and Deepwater Drive. She described the dangerous traffic conditions at this intersection, where vehicles from three directions converge without any signage or traffic control measures. Quick reported near-miss incidents and urged the council to consider installing stop signs to enhance safety for residents, particularly given the incline of the roads involved. She suggested that a stop sign on Deepwater could help manage the flow of traffic and prevent accidents.
The discussions from the meeting underscore the community's desire for improved transparency from the HOA and heightened safety measures in residential areas. As the council considers these concerns, residents are hopeful for actionable outcomes that will enhance both communication and safety in Hideout.
