Salford Girls T Ball All Stars Claim State Championship at Broussard Sports Complex

The City of Sulphur celebrated the remarkable achievements of its young athletes during the recent council meeting, highlighting the triumphs of both the Sulphur Girls T-Ball All-Stars and the Sulphur Girls Coach Pitch All-Stars.

The T-Ball All-Stars, under the guidance of coaches Kayla Bavez, Mike Bavez, Frankie Ziegler, and Lexi Ross, showcased exceptional skills and teamwork, culminating in a state championship victory. The team, which includes players like Carson Ziegler, Macy Bavez, and Riley Beebe, advanced to the championship after a strong performance in their district. Their journey concluded with a significant win against South Lake Charles on July 13 at the Saint Julian Sports Complex in Broussard, Louisiana. The council extended heartfelt congratulations, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches, and celebrating their achievement as an inspiration for the entire community.

Following this, the council also recognized the Sulphur Girls Coach Pitch All-Stars, who demonstrated tenacity and sportsmanship throughout their season. Led by coaches Shawna Carlson, Ali Welsh, Till Milburn, and Brandon Jean, the team, featuring athletes like Kenzie Milburn and Kate Carlson, secured a second-place finish in their district and fought their way to the state championship, ultimately defeating South Lake Charles. The council commended their resilience and teamwork, celebrating their accomplishments as a testament to hard work.

Both teams' victories not only brought honor to Sulphur but also served as a source of pride for the community, reinforcing the importance of youth sports and the values of dedication and teamwork.
