West Indy Art and Music Festival Set for Saturday with 30 Vendors and Live Jazz

The council expressed gratitude to local sponsors, including the Speedway Lions Club and Funday's Ice Cream and Sweets, for their generous contributions, such as lemonade slushy pouches that delighted concert-goers during the sweltering heat.

Looking ahead, preparations for the West Indy Art and Music Festival were a focal point of discussion. Scheduled for Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM, the festival promises a vibrant lineup, including five food trucks, over 30 art and craft vendors, and seven jazz bands performing throughout the day. To accommodate the festivities, School Drive Road will be closed from Parkwood to Beauport starting at 8 AM, with plans to reopen by 8 PM or sooner, depending on the event's conclusion.

In a nod to community involvement, the council called for volunteers to assist with the festival, noting a recent uptick in sign-ups. The Lions Club's support with golf carts was also acknowledged, showcasing the collaborative spirit that defines Speedway.
