Seaside City Council celebrated community pride and home improvement during its August 7, 2025, meeting by presenting the House of the Month Awards for June and July 2025. Assistant City Manager Dan Milas, alongside Neighborhood Improvement Commission Chair Ray Reardon, highlighted the importance of recognizing residents who enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city.
The June award went to the home at 1141 Amador, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Kemp. Although the couple could not attend the meeting, Reardon praised their home for its attractive facade and well-maintained landscaping, emphasizing the pride homeowners take in their properties.
For July, the award was presented to Victoria Hevychenko for her home at 1336 Kenneth. Reardon noted the significant transformation the house underwent, attributing much of the work to Hevychenko's own efforts. He expressed admiration for her dedication and the visible improvements made to the property.
The awards not only celebrate individual homeowners but also encourage community involvement. Residents are invited to nominate homes for future recognition, fostering a spirit of pride and collaboration within Seaside. The council's initiative underscores the importance of community engagement in enhancing the city's overall appearance and livability.
