Pueblo County is poised for economic revitalization as a new glycerin manufacturing facility is proposed to be established in the area. During a recent Board of County Commissioners work session, Ralph Armijo, the founder and CEO of the glycerin solutions company, presented plans that promise to create over 50 skilled labor jobs within the first year of operation. This initiative aims to not only boost local employment but also generate an estimated $30 million economic multiplier effect for the county.

Armijo, a Pueblo native, emphasized his commitment to the community, citing his deep roots and personal history in the area. He expressed a desire to leverage his extensive entrepreneurial experience to foster growth and development in Pueblo. The proposed facility is expected to revitalize the industrial corridor, which has seen a decline in recent years.

The leadership team behind the project consists of seven experienced professionals, each bringing a wealth of knowledge in various sectors, including global sales and mergers and acquisitions. Armijo highlighted the importance of having the right team in place to execute the business strategy effectively.

The company is currently in discussions with property owners and potential partners, including Petco, to secure the necessary facilities for the manufacturing operations. Armijo noted that while private equity investors typically prefer to establish businesses in larger economic markets, the team is committed to making Pueblo their first choice due to its unique opportunities.
