Despite a $39 million decrease in investments compared to last year, primarily due to increased aviation expenditures, the general investment pool's yield has risen to 4.081%, up from 3.927% in the previous quarter. Additionally, the city maintains two smaller investment pools totaling around $16 million to meet federal tax requirements.

In a significant financial maneuver, Houston successfully premarketed and priced approximately $724 million in airport systems subordinate lien revenue bonds, allowing for future redemption options. This strategic move was praised by city officials, including Director Dabowski and City Treasurer Vernon Lewis, highlighting the effective collaboration of the finance team.

As the fiscal year 2025 wraps up, officials noted that while the financial report is finalized, adjustments will continue until the comprehensive annual financial report is published in November.
