During the recent meeting held on July 29, 2025, board members discussed the formation of a communication subcommittee aimed at improving messaging around mental health resources, particularly in light of the upcoming National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 9-8-8 awareness campaign for Suicide Awareness Month in September.

The board recognized the importance of a unified message regarding mental health and behavioral health services available in the community. Members emphasized the need for a focused approach to outreach, suggesting that the subcommittee could tailor communications across various platforms, including social media and billboards, to effectively inform the public about available resources.

In addition to communication strategies, the board addressed the need for bylaws to govern its operations. Discussions included setting time limits for presentations to ensure meetings remain productive and focused on actionable outcomes. A consensus emerged around limiting presentations to two per meeting, each lasting no longer than 15 minutes, including time for questions. This change aims to facilitate more meaningful discussions and decision-making during meetings.
