Scott County Fiscal Court has officially designated a new road as Caleb Connolly Way, honoring the late Deputy Caleb Connolly, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on May 22, 2023. This decision, made during the court's meeting on July 24, 2025, aims to recognize Connolly's dedicated service to the community and provide a lasting tribute to his commitment.

The resolution to name the road was supported by Sheriff Nettles and other court members, who emphasized the significance of the gesture. The road will provide access to the new Scott County Sheriff's Office and County Clerk's Annex, which is set to open in the summer of 2025. The court discussed various naming options, ultimately settling on "Caleb Connolly Way" after considering community input.

In addition to the road naming, the court addressed the need for improved parking facilities at the new sheriff's office and surrounding areas. Discussions included potential designs for parking lots and the possibility of creating a loop road to enhance accessibility to local parks.

The resolution was passed unanimously, with court members expressing their support for the tribute to Connolly. Signs bearing the name Caleb Connolly Way will be installed to commemorate his service.
