Crown East Industrial Park Seeks Approval to Combine Lots for Expansion

The Crown Point City Plan Commission meeting on May 27, 2025, highlighted a significant development proposal that could reshape the local industrial landscape. Valley Oz Demure, representing Dynadome Retractable Structures, sought approval to combine two lots in the Crown East Industrial Park to facilitate an expansion of their cold storage facilities.

The proposal aims to merge Lots 7 and 8 at 11025 Delaware Parkway, addressing ongoing storage issues that have led to materials spilling into the parking lot. "This expansion will help clean up the look outside the building and in the park," Demure stated, emphasizing the need for more space as the business has outgrown its current facility.

Josh, a representative from the planning department, detailed that the property had previously received a variance to allow additional parking, which was approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals in 2015. He noted that while there are existing violations regarding storage on the property, these would be resolved through the proposed expansion.

The planning department has recommended approval of the petition, stating that all necessary notices were sent out and no objections were received from the public. The commission is expected to make a decision on this proposal in the coming weeks, which could pave the way for significant improvements in the area’s industrial capacity.
