Cedar Park is set to enhance safety and aesthetics at Town Center Park with the approval of a new lighting project. During the city council meeting on July 24, 2025, the council discussed the contractor selection for the installation of innovative lighting fixtures, solar panels, and security cameras in the pedestrian underpass tunnels.

The project, funded through community development funds, aims to create an immersive experience with interactive LED lights that will illuminate the tunnels. This initiative is expected to improve pedestrian connections, enhance the visual appeal of the trails, and foster a stronger sense of community.

Chris Ricky, the capital projects manager, introduced the project, highlighting its significance for both safety and community engagement. The city utilized a competitive sealed proposal method to ensure the best value for taxpayers, receiving two proposals from contractors. After careful evaluation, SA Smart Solutions LLC was selected as the top contractor based on their qualifications.
