Bedford's Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval for a significant expansion of the Texas Roadhouse restaurant located at 3000 Crystal Springs Street. The proposed addition, measuring 690 square feet, will extend from the southern portion of the existing building, enhancing the restaurant's capacity while maintaining compliance with local zoning regulations.

During the meeting on July 24, 2025, city staff presented the site plan, noting that the property is situated within a heavy commercial and master highway corridor overlay zone. The current zoning allows for the restaurant's expansion, which is crucial for accommodating increased customer demand. The addition will not alter the building's height and is designed to blend seamlessly with the existing structure.

Parking considerations were also addressed. The restaurant currently has 164 parking spaces, and the addition will reduce this number by three spaces, bringing the total to 161. Despite this reduction, the restaurant will still exceed the required parking capacity based on its seating arrangement.

Additionally, the expansion will include landscaping improvements, as the property will incorporate a 30-foot landscape buffer, a requirement established after the property was initially developed in 2005. The landscaping will feature trees and shrubs that are suitable for the site’s conditions.

The commission's recommendation will now move to the city council for final approval. This expansion is expected to enhance the dining experience for Bedford residents and visitors, reflecting the city's commitment to supporting local businesses while adhering to zoning and development standards.
